Left at the Alter

Left at the Alter by Kimberly Kennedy

This is a story by Kimberly on how to find hope and healing in the midst of rejection. Kimberly shares her own personal story of actually being left at the alter on her wedding day and explained the emotions she went through and the things she thought and felt. Any woman who has ever felt the pain of rejection on any level, not necessarily being left at the alter can totally relate. And that is the point of this book. We all feel rejected at one point in time. We cannot rely on people because people will disappoint you. You have to put your full trust and full faith in the only person that will not reject you and that is God. Kimberly also shares what she did in order to overcome that rejection that she felt. Though, it took a long time, she finally understands what God's plan was for that dark part of her life and is really passionate about sharing her story (a story that was used on talk shows basically mocking her) with other women to see that we can all relate. Sometimes you may feel like you are completely alone in your rejection and that no one can understand. But, really, almost everyone can. This book also has a section that was very interesting that had mens views of rejection. Men shared the process that goes through their mind when they break up with their girlfriends and that it is actually quite hard for them to do it.
This book has helped me a lot as i've struggled and still am struggling over rejection and loss of a boyfriend. I've learned some good tips on how to cope with it and how to give it over to God. A favorite quote from the book is "Man's rejection, God's protection," and I pray that over my life every day.

I received this book for free from booksneeze.com for this review.
